HD555's are what most people suggest if you look at past threads. but they come with no mic and are £80-90 if you're lucky.

I use sennheiser pc166 166 usb headset - built in soundcard. great headset and mic quality. dont cover your ears but i prefer that personally. you can get them for around £60 too if you shop around

Check out TT's new headsets, i seen and tested some at EUROGAMER EXPO and they look great and are very comfy. built in sound card.. think there around the £60-£70mark.

I've got a pair of Audio Technica AD700s and they're excellent (if you haven't heard of them look up some reviews on head-fi)

Icemat/Steelseries Siberias if you link your mic seperate from your headset
V2 if you like it connected.

You can walk outside with the V1's Microphone free and not look like a twat though.

Everyone mentions HD-555 because they are really good. They've lasted the longest of any headphones I've bought. I must've had them for a couple of years now which is way longer than any of my past headphones which seem to break after about 9months.

I've tried a lot of brands (Sennheiser, Steelseries, Plantronics, Creative) and I think the best advice is not to buy gaming headphones. They are just churned out shit and they are often flimsy pieces of crap. My two longest lasting headphones were both just regular headphones.

Sennheiser PXC 350 - Travel Headphone Set With NoiseGard Advance Technology

I would say go for these, I cannot explain how clear the noise gate makes the sound, it also means when you go to any lans and people are making noise around you, you will NOT be able to hear them at all. It really works, + the headset can be used a speakers!!!

Best thing i have ever bought

Sorry, but the icemat and steelseries headphones sound dog compared to HD555's. They have terrible bass boosts to make them sound bassier than they actually are.. shite.

I have found that other headsets do not have the quality to do this, however I am sure there are a few that can, the difference being the noise gate though

Ive had siberia v2's for a while now and they've done the job, very good sound quality, retractable mic in the earcup - they're the best in my opinion, got them for around £60 as well, good quality for a good price
