theSGL announce details of Season 15 for Counter-Strike 1.6

Our fifteenth season will commence on October 9th. This is where we usually tell you registration is open and to go sign up. This time you'll have do it a little bit differently...

Latter seasons of Counter-Strike have been blighted by defaults and teams that quite frankly don't give a damn. This is a huge pain for the teams that do turn out for matches and have their time wasted week after week.

To participate in Season 15 all teams are required to have played a minimum of five official matches in the Counter-Strike 1.6 ladder during the month of September. Teams who are not able or willing to play five matches over the course of an entire month may therefore be unable to take part.

Your league placement will depend entirely on your ladder position. Yes, we are aware this may lead to some teams "noob bashing" but we will be taking this into account, and frankly if it really bothers you that much - simply challenge such a team to a match and take them down a peg or two yourself - always an easy remedy.

Teams may of course play more official matches than the five match mandatory minimum. Found your position too low after five matches? Not a problem, play some more matches and keep trying till you get where you deserve.

The second departure from previous seasons is the inclusion of European teams. No longer the preserve of "UK Only" outfits, we are actively welcoming teams from continental Europe to take part.

Remember - If you do not show some activity by playing ladder matches during September then your league position and placement will be exactly where you will have earned - nowhere. Are we asking you to do something horrible to get into the league? no. We are simply asking you to play a game that you claim to love! No great hardship there really we think!

Finally - it is September today. There is no reason at all you can't start throwing your weight around and making some specific challenges against other teams, or if you're not that choosey then just create some open challenges and leave it to chance who will take up your challenge.

Any teams not in the ladder already, you can register on the link below and we will make sure that your application is fast tracked so no time is lost. Please though - ensure you have five players on your roster before you apply.

also, do teams actually have to play 5 more just this month, if they have already played 5 before hand? because we aren't online very often at all to play atm (people going to uni at the end of the week also), so it seems unfair that we've played in the ladder in recent months as it was asked for, but more than likely can't this month, but we haven't ever missed a game in the past, and aren't planning on doing so in the future, as we are always available on sundays, which is the only reason we would sign up anyways...
