The Final night of the home nations cup 2008 kicks off tonight with the final round of matches taking place at 8pm. Who will the title go to England or Scotland?
Over the past 4 weeks each nation has fought it out with some very close matches taking place there has been a terrific display of skill and tactical genius. Tonight in the final week England are in the driving seat with four out of four wins if they continue this trend they will be named champions. They do not have an easy task though with Scotland standing in there way. This is sure to be the biggest game of the tournament as rivalries do not get any bigger. The teams are not only playing to win the Home Nations title but playing for the pride of there country and of course those all important bragging rights.
England are sure favorites for tonight’s match on paper they have the stronger team but has history has shown you never right off the Scot’s. I caught up with Coldasice Scotland’s Captain earlier today and asked what he thought his team’s chances were of beating the heavy Favorites England.
“This is without a doubt Scotlands best chance to beat England since I can remember a nations cup. Suffz and 101 played extremely well at IG5 beating 4kings.”
Scotlands probable Line up: Cai, kalleh, 101, suffz, ultimate
Englands probable Line up: Song, Aleski, Jenuwin, Kemistry, Cruel

All matches are available via HLTV on this link where you will be able to watch your choice of match live from 9pm this evening. The knives will be out for Team England no doubt as they garnered 65% of all votes cast in the poll to guess the winner of this event. On paper Scotland probably come next in line and have a decent team. going by the poll results it seems no one fancies the chances of the other teams very highly and the votes could have come mose from a sense of national pride rather than a realistic expectation.
Whatever happens during thee five weeks of matches - the one thing for sure is that somewhere someone will slip up and somewhere else another team will raise their game and pull an unlikely result out of the bag. So each team should be on their toes - either to sieze an opportunity or to ward off a defeat...
The stench of patriotic fervour permeates the Counter Strike 1.6 United Kingdom scene this January and February as the traditional "home nations" battle it out once again to determine just which part of these sceptred isles is home to the finest gamers. Joining the five sedentary nations we also welcome the "Islanders" to the fray. This sixth team is drawn from a pool of players with one simple link - they live on an island. I can only expect we see a greater involvement from the likes of the Isle of Wight and the channels islands than we will from Jura or Orkney.
Nominations have been recieved and votes are currently underway to decide just will captain these teams and have the task of selecting their squad of just eight players. In keeping with what you would reasonably expect the team captains are unable to select more than two players from any one clan, making their choices all the more difficult.
Matches will be played every Monday at 9pm and take a league format and follow standard rules. Alongside the United Kingdom team taking part in the CBNC we hope that players from each nation will get behind their home nation team and show them some real support.
