Just a reminder to all teams. I'm not doing the admins jobs but in the rules it states than UK servers are used in theSGL hosted games. So I anticipate many spanish / portuguese teams having issues. I would recommend ALL spanish / portuguese teams to get the ip well in advance and run ping tracers by doing this..


Start>Run> "type in cmd"
ping "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" where that is the server ip without the port.

Very true in SGL hosted games however we do have other servers in different countrys to accomodate for this. SGL Hosted games are where we provide the server, admin, sourcetv etc Mainly in css eu the teams decide between themselves which server to play on and the admins don't get involved unless we have to.

Before any confusion, all games are on your own servers we may pick out 1 or 2 games for casting and those will be on sgl servers and sorted between thesgl and the teams involved. All games are on your OWN servers unless told otherwise

sorry leigh just the reason I mentioned this is that in my group I have a czech team (No worries)

uP-gaming who are the 2nd/3rd best portuguese team (they'll get high pings to us I bet)

and a spanish side (who will ping for 90-110 to us)

portuguese ppl don't ping on UK server's... it's like 40-65ms

gouveiahh no point in you signing up, you dont have a full roster (5th steam ID is missing) you all miss the first match due to elegibility

Players with timeleft on there profile will be aloud for the first game of the tournament however you wont be allowed to clan jump any player found to be clan jumping will be removed from the tournament.

I think alot of teams maybe in the same boat but thats exactly what i want, i want to get rid of team who are half soaked and get to the teams that actually are gonna turn up and play

just judging by the amount of defaults I would say that if you put top 2 through. Which I believe you are. You would not need to run a separate event for the people who finished 3rd/4th as there wouldn't be any.

And then for the first round of the knockout. There will be several byes I would say out of the top64 teams you are probably going to get nearer 32

Shame really. We have managed to get one game in our group luckily. It's been rescheduled to tommorow So our group will be finished wednesday evening with us and southbay going through (Most likely us 2nd and them 1st)

yes it is to seed teams but top 2 will go through its all in the news post with the schedules

I think SGL should send emails to the teams accepted in leagues as a reminder as i bet alot of people signup to the season/league and forget about it and fold and leave the team in the tournament.

Maybe sumthing SGL could think about. A system which emails the leaders or everyone on the roster and they have to confirm they are taking part still or they get replaced.

i agree with heat something to confirm that the other team is waiting sick of mixing and waiting till game just to see that nobody shows up.

If you sign up we expect teams want to play, theres only so much you can do. I set out the dates in a news post i did everything i cud to get games, the whole point of this tournament is to get rid of defaults in the main season thats how much we doing to trying to limit them. I dont understand what else teams want us to do bloody play the god damn game for you. At the end of the day if you sign up we expect you to play the games we arent gonna run round after 100 odd teams and make them play. A link a email isnt gonna change anything might be good ideas but we sent out emails for every news post we arent gonna run round them anymore. It pisses us admins off as much as u the teams cus we have to take our own time to sort these comps and teams dnt turn up we dnt get paid for it. We have put loads of effort into tournament we arent gonna chase teams anymore they either turn up or they dont end of. Im not ranting at your suggestions but it seems every team wants more and more from the admins well its about time they gave something back.

Just to clarify im not moaning at the teams who are turning up or you to for making suggestions on how to improve reliablity, but the fact is that all the news posts had the dates of the fixtures clearly marked on them, we clearly said in the news post everyone will be accepted into the tournament. We sent emails out to every single person on theSGL informing them of both tournaments 1.6 and CSS. We released the groups with 3 or 4 days notice and sent out emails once again outlining the dates and linking to the news post stating the groups. We as admins couldnt do much more, we still knew there would be defaults i clearly stated in my news post this tournament is to get to the teams that want to play and its doing that to effect i hope we wont have hardly any defaults in the first week of the season due to this tournament cus we will have teams we know who will turn up.

Please note: I do not work full time on SGL i work in a office, i do not get paid for doing this so you can imagine how defaults piss me off.

lmfao i hope that wasnt aimed at me. my message was clearly shot out to teams that sign up to various events and dont bother comming on, not admins needing to sort out other teams organisation. the sgl is by far the best league me and my team play in and the admin support is better than anyother ive come across.
