  The One night Stand series continues again this coming Wednesday as we join with our friends at Fucapo who are generously awarding the winner of this event with a carton of their Blue Energy sugar free performance tabs. More details on their product - each pack of which contains the same properties as five cans of energy drinks can be found at the bottom of this post or by following this link.

Registration for ONS#19 is open now on the link at the bottom of this post. The first thirty two teams with an eligible roster to apply will be accepted into the event which as ever is strictly first come first served. Matches will be played on teams own servers up until the semi finals or if you have some serious ping issues - if so tell us and we will try and help.

Matches are played on Wednesday from 8pm [UK[ and are played through to the semi finals. The final is played the following night - Thursday also from 8pm.

SteelSeries CCC : Knockout Stage

  Its time to get down to the business end of the CCC. After a long drawn out group stage which has seen teams fighting it out over a month now. Its come down to the final 16.

The top two teams from each group have gone forth into the single elimination best of three playoffs where one team will be crowned the CCC Champions and benefit from a prize pack from the event sponsors Steelseries.

As ever you can enter your own scores during the course of the Cup however we do require to be notified once the score has been entered so we can move you through to the next round. If you have any quieres just jump into IRC #theSGL.css  and pm a op. If You get no reply or no one is around you can contact us by email:  mail@theSGL.com where we will answer your question as quickly as possible

One Night Stand #16 Tonight!

  Well its Wednesday again, which means we have another night of fantastic CSS action planned. The competition starts at 8pm [UK time] and runs through all the rounds except the final tonight, with the final being played tomorrow night.

Exactly like last week there will be another cartoon of fucapo for the winners, so defiantly worth playing for, as its bound to make them b Rushes that tad bit faster! More details on what fucapo is can be found here.

There are currently 9 slots that need filling and I hope to do this by the end of the day taking the total number of clans competing tonight up to 32 teams. I do however need you to contact me asap if you want in on the cup action, I will be on irc most of today under: theSGL|Fozzy, but will be off this afternoon for a while. PM my bnc with a team link while I’m off and you’ll be added. Remember, first comes, first serves. We do like to cater for as many of you as possible, so please try helping me out.

Matches will start at 8pm [UK time] and are played on a server that is decided between the clans. Please contact your opponent as early as possible to be sure that they know about the game and you have an ip to connect to.

There are four spots still available, which whilst unusual isn't bas considering we only opened up to registration on Monday - sorry for being a bit slow on that one guys! There are also three teams who do not have enough rostered players to take part tonight. I urge those teams to bring their team up to at least five players asap or they will be replaced by the first eligible team as soon as they sign up. Remember your slot is not secure unless you have a minimum five players on your roster....

Matches are played tonight from 8pm [UK[ and are played through to the semi finals. The final is played the following night - Thursday also from 8pm. As ever we encourage you to leave server details on the match details page so your opponent can join the match as easily as possible.

One Night Stand 14 - the final

  A rarity in One Stand Events last night gave us a small number of first round defaults - which was something of a shock based on what we have come to expect in recent weeks.

With both of last weeks finalists out of the picture things looked wide open for anyone to go all the way and this was highlighted by the early losses from Defeaters and Versatile making things altogether more random.

Estonians ee iuc-gaming had a walkove in their first round, took a tight overtime win 19-17 vs 4fx.cs (ex karnage) 16-4 over Czech team Rider on the Storm (formerly Inertance) and another 19-17 overtime win over Trished.

Danish outfit dk DSRack took a 16-0 over their Hungarian rivals Revolution before a very good 16-7 over UK stalwarts Versatile. After a brutal 16-14 encounter with top swiss gamers SoH.ch they were no doubt surpised to take another 16-0 win in the semis over Lithuanian #1 mmori.cs.

The final will be played tonight on a neatral server with SRCtv from 8pm[UK] 9pm[CET]. The map will be de_dust2 and the winner will be rewarded with a carton of Fucapo Blue Energy sugar free performance tabs.

Defending champions Tranfunctioner for Pleasure return again this week as the new top seeds as do the runners up from last week HardcoreGamers Nova who sit at the opposite end of the bracket.

The fixtures are all released and as ever we encourage teams to post their server ip/pw details on the match comment pages to speed up the process tonight. To be honest ONS teams are the most clued up guys on theSLG right now and the way you all manage to just get on with your games is highly appreciated by us. We thank you for it!

There were over 50 applications this week of which several had only four or less on their roster. Thirty two teams with a full roster are entered into the event and only one fully rostered team missed out - if "Digestive" or any other team for that matter would like to join #theSGL.css at eight to see if a space has become available then please make yourself known to an OP in the channel.

Finally where two teams are concerned I would remind you all that theSGL is primarily a EUROPEAN league and all match servers must be located in continental Europe. Apologies for this - but this is what will happen when you enter events in distant locations. We have of course added you along with everyone else - so let's see what you're made of!

The vikings were on a rampage last time out as the lengthy titled no Tranfunctioner For Pleasure (not a bad roster I think you'll agree!) came out on top against the French outfit fr hardcoreGamers.Nova. Both teams each beat one of the finalists from ONS#12 in close matches TFP beating TCM 19-15 after overtime and HCG beating Infused 16-14. This was a tough cup so congratulations to TFP on their win!
