The first question that you may need answering of course is "what is King of the Hill"?
King of the Hill (KotH) is sponsored by
steelseries and takes the format of a single best of three match where the winners stay on to defend their crown in the next match. The winning team in each tie is rewarded with £100 in cash directly from
steelseries and a team may win up to five matches before being "retired".
How do we decide who plays in the KotH match ? We don't - but you do! Based on the order of application, fifteen teams with a valid roster are entered into a public vote and the team with the most votes at the end of the week gets to take on the defending champions (the first poll will see the top two teams entered into the match).
The next four teams gaining the hghest number of votes in the poll will be remain in the public vote for the next round and the teams who didn't get enough votes to make it into the match or to stay inthe poll for next week will be deleted from the event and may then apply once again to enter the event.
If and when a team loses in the match itself they may also enter themselves into the event once more. The
steelseries King of the Hill event is an ongoing event and there will be a waiting list so don't worry if you're not in the vote right away (in the 1.6 version we have previously had over one hundred and fifty teams in the waiting list - so you'll have to wait your turn!).
All matches will be played on our servers based here in the United Kingdom. Standard theSGL CSS rules apply including the mandatory use of SGLac for all players in all circumstances - no exceptions. There are no reschedules in King of the Hill, matches take place on Mondays at 8pm [UK].
The
steelseries King of the Hill event is the only bi-weekly cash prize Counter-Strike Source event and is run exclusively here on theSGL.com.
To sign up your team for this event please use the link below and remember : we do not choose who takes part, you do - so if you find yourself in the vote make sure you get people to vote for you! It isn't always teh best team that gets the votes, it's always the most popular!
