Last week we saw an impressive week where all games bar 2 were played and even saw some top results appear. What makes it even better is the fact that not all the teams expected to win won, making the leagues look much different to what people have predicting they will finish.
Last week ofcourse was de_nuke, which allowed for a nice even map to start off the event and let people get into the swing of things before it really started to heat up. In the invite, Say no 2 racism have opened up a lead at the top on round difference by beating Deviant 16-8 in the biggest scoreline of the invite. Strong beat clanotron 16-12, with Rocky Robins taking the other win in the invite against Fragnetix. Mind Games and Sisters of mercy managed a draw, which was a fair result.
In the Premiership there were 2 defaults, after isdoomed decided they were pulling out and naturals not being ready to start the event last week. Naturals should be able to play this week, while I’m not sure on what’s happening with Isdoomed, but hopefully they’ll be replaced. Divine managed an impressive 16-1 to put them top, while Dynamic scraped a win, from what could so easily have been a lose.
Down in the championship, Fuzion, sentinels, Osiris and Deathless all cruised to victory against their opponents, and that puts them all joint top. 3 of them teams were expected to be there, so might see the season in the championship go to how its expected to go.
Invite Fixtures are as follows:
Clanotron will be looking to get their first points of the season against a strong SN2R team this week, but they won’t find it easy with deano, blazin, urban and smk trying their hardest to pin them back and increase their lead at the top of the table. Strong will be looking to improve upon their win last week, and will have to do so against the newly reformed Mind Games, who won’t sit aside and let them take the points easily. Deviant will be looking to get their first points against the 1.6 team Rocky Robins, and should get the points in my opinion! Sisters of Mercy will be taking on Fragnetix gaming for the third time in the last month of high profile CZ events. 3 games 3 maps, 2-1 to which team though?
The Premiership’s games:
Bulletproof will be looking for a repeat of last week’s performance, and maybe even improving to actually win this game. They tried and failed last week, so maybe they will be able to do it this time. Divine will be looking to slice through butter with a warm knife again so they can move away at the top with ease. Dynamic will have to improve upon last week’s result to beat cliq this week, as cliq have a lot of experience in 1.6, which might well help them to victory. Godlike will be looking to just cruise by against Xperience`, who were brushed aside last week by divine.
The Championships games follow suit:
Last week we saw all the predicted top 3 win, so maybe we will see the same this week, but hopefully not, so the whole league opens up. Echo will be looking to get points against sentinels, so that they can challenge for the title this season, but sentinels won’t be a push over in their attempt to finish top 3. Fuzion and Osiris are both predicted to be in top 3, but they play each this week, which means one of them will have to fall behind the pack, if not both of them. Dynamic need a much more improved performance this week if they want to survive in the championship. They need to rise to the challenge of Rabidz who are much more improved since last season. The last game this week see’s deathless take on North East Gamers, in what looks to be an even clash.
