Random Disconnections

Just started last night, while playing CS my ping will suddenly jump to 400+ for about 5 seconds then I either get a connection problem to the server or I go back to normal. Anyone else had this problem before and if so how to fix it? I'm on 4mb VM if that helps in the slightest bit =/

Yeah, I just upgraded from 2mb Virgin on USB to 10mb Virgin on ethernet and now it's started doing it.
I lag out for about 10 seconds then im back and everything is fine. Really weird.

I'm using my laptop and I'm connected to my router both by a LAN cable and wireless. No one else was using the wireless at the time.

Hmmmm... usualy when i'm on CS its on my Desktop downstairs which is the main computer and basicaly 2 laptops going off which gives me a ping about 16 min then when the BASTARD of the PS3[ people who mix with me know] i fyucking hate the fucker and ping goes 100-200!

But i think it will get used to what your trying to play if youknwo what i mean it will sort itself out, mine did that when i started, i thought it was ment to hapen lol dont worry it will sort itself out!

disable the wireless and use only ethernet.

when i had it back home i got the full 20mb, always got 2.4mb/s if the place i was downloading from cud support that... and got bout 10-15 ping on cs.. :/

I noticed around my area the engineers that work on the green boxes on the side of the roads u know the boxes that Telewest/vm have with two handles one either side that u can open beer bottles on :P well they only lock one side of the box and the kids force them open and abuse the cables :/ ive been past a few in my time that have been burnt out, its mistakes like not closing them properly that contributes to the long lists of bad workmanship, in fact im gonna take a few snaps of them next time, i saw one the other week that was put up next to a vine bush and omg the little vines have compromised the box and are starting to cover the whole thing inside out.
