Im guessing this may get deleted very quickly so if anyone has any definate answers could you pm them to me please.

Basically, i was wondering how you could get a movie from your pc onto a CD that you would be able to play in a DVD player. I have never done it before, and i have no tools to do something like that. But theres a number of movies i would like to watch on my big tv rather than my computer screen, but ofcorse i dont have the money to buy on DVD. So with that also comes the question, is there anywhere i can download these movies in good enough quality that it wont look crap on a 42" screen, im guessing torrents is the obvious answer but i always get aweful speeds of like 5kbps from torrents.

Any help would be great, and like i said anyone with a definate answer please PM as im guessing this will end up getting deleted.

You need to have a dvd player that will play divx. There are programs out which can take a DVD and convert it a 700mb divx file which you can put on CD. My flatmate uses dvd fab.

The quality shouldnt be too bad. If you want better quality you'll have to burn it as a proper dvd.

I use a programme called ConvertXtoDVD, it works well. I just drag the movie across it converts it to a dvd format and then burns automatically works really well. Doesnt take too long aswell, and about the quality of the video. I jus get lucky on which one i pick from the list

Rapidshare + Forumw tbh. Then download DVD rips - which will most likely be .avi files, then you can use anything from Windows DVD Maker to Nero to burn it to a DVD.

Sorry, misread. Thought you said Movies to DVDs

Avi2dvd will play on a dvd player that doesnt have divx compatability... same with convertXtodvd.. both good progs, Avi2dvd is better tho, for the more advanced user.

you can set up a media server and stream your movies from your computer, through your xbox on your big tv
all you need is an ethernet cable or wireless bridge

It does but it doesn't play xvid files etc, you got to convert them to wma or something.
