kay, we've got a x360 running on a TFT monitor, but we wanted to set up a gamecube aswell, just so we can play super smash bro's for giggles.

how would we set it up?!
google didnt help, at all :[
im guessing you'll need a lead, like the x360 one.

Very tricky. Your going to need a PAL Gamecube to output a Progressive signal via VGA. Give me five mins and I'll look into it.

Does your TFT have component inputs by any chance? I VERY highly doubt your PAL Gamecube will be able to do this. You might need to buy an NTSC one.

EDIT: You can do it. But it is going to be hard. I've found there is NO way the Gamecube can perform a scan conversion.

You'll need an Official Nintendo Component Video cable as the gamecube can output a progressive signal from it's DV port using this. This can then be modified to output a RGB HV via VGAl, but your monitor must support VGA Interlacing at 15Khz. How new is your monitor?

Or you can just buy a VGA box BUT you'd need some VERY expensive cabling and IMHO is not worth the price you'd have to pay.

I've looked more into it for you Retro (me=geek) and it is possible with an American Gamecube. I've got an American Gamecube complete with Freeloader (lets you play ANY region games on it) and loads of good games (used to love the Gamecube) and I'd be willing to sell it you complete with the modified VGA cable for a fair price. Message me if interested.

Failing that, your only way to make the Gamecube output VIA VGA is a fairly expensive VGA box that would require good cabling to get a decent picture.

Found something pretty interesting (kind of a cheat). If you were to buy a PCI TV tuner card with a compsite video input, you could connect an English Gamecube upto that and play it that way. I'm not sure exactly what the picture quality would be like though, i suspect it would vary massivly depeneding on the monitor and the TV card etc.

Cheap and looks like it would do the job!

Wouldn't work. Your asking the Gamecube to output at 15Khz progressive RGB HV by simply using a small converter, something which it is not capable of. If you were to convert the composite signal to DVI/HDMI you would need a very expensive converter/scaler.

The thing is all these different connections don't work by the same rules and technology and it's not just a case of making it so the ends fit correctly in the right place. The simplest and cheapest way I can possibly think of is using a PC TV card with a composite input, then plugging the audio jacks into the line-in socket on your soundcard.
