Yes, our site is currently under refurbishment and is now going under the design stages.

So, that will be live soon for you to see and we don't make you pay, until you've seen the design and confirmed it.

The site looks like a piece of shit.

Most gamers can design a site anyway.

Web development is a bit of a no-earner.

Unless you work for a large corporation and you're handling businesses, in which case you need to be so pro that even your gran would be proud.

No offence intended to poster but there is something in here that i see all the time that really infuriates me :

"site going live soon"

Wake up call, this is the internet. you live or die by your website. you cannot function without one. why oh why do people post about things where the site is going live "soon". Just wait and do it properly, why do you want people to see half finished or invisible websites ?

that a company who want to see you websites would go down the same route and show you a half done one - just compounds the error. think about what you're doing for christ sake.

the only thing worse than no website - is a bad one.

I think you're tearing into this kid a little too hard. Good web development is hard and it is very rare to see a developer in the CS/"e-Sport" community do it well.

While I still can't see it done well with Gamerz.biz, everyone has to start somewhere. Allow me to offer some constructive criticism, though:

- BAD: Don't claim to use fully bespoke software solutions when your entire website is just a huge advert for some other external proprietary CMS. Also, what exactly IS the aim of the Gamerz.biz website? I saw nothing there that correlates to your apparent business plan. So, to further Uzi's point -- there is actually no website here as far as this service you're offering is concerned.

- GOOD: Your markup seems fairly up-to-date, although I saw some hacky stuff that isn't necessary with such a simple page. That's probably the doing of the CMS I mentioned above, but at least you put on a front of being in tune with web standards and while customers may not see that; professionals will.

- BAD: You make a horrible pitch. Perhaps get someone to edit any communication you make with your customer base and make sure it reads well. Attach some actual examples of work (VERY important) and always make some kind of a cost estimate, regardless of how much you know about a potential project. Tell us an approximate hourly rate at least (also, don't make your rate too low. If it's any less than 2 x minimum wage we know you're not going to give us this stellar service you speak of. Indian outsourcing proves that).

- GOOD: I like your username. Oh, and you offer a strong guarentee I guess. If you can stick to that, it will be a huge selling point over the likes of XippY or whatever other service was mentioned above.

Put on a more professional facade, brush up on how web development is actually done these days and you'll actually have a fighting chance at success. Perhaps consider getting out of this "gamers" niche too. Web HCI design and programming is exactly the same everywhere. People are starting to realise that and WILL go outside Quakenet for these services, so don't lock yourself in when you don't need to.
