The Matrix

The topic of 'Do you belive in God' got me thinking about the matrix theory.

Scientists are trying to think of a way to create energy from nothing. I.E. power something up to make it keep creating LOTs of energy from something what isn't using alot of energy and will never run out. At the minute we are using coal/fuel/nuclear etc.

In the matrix the universe is fake, and created to make people belive they are real. Everybody is in a kind of like software, and the power of the 'fake' humans are generating energy for the designers. Have you ever thought we might be in such a thing as the Matrix, we are designed to belive that we are real, and as somebody said in the other forum belive that something always had to start somewhere.

We could be used to generate energy for some other kind of "people", who are in control of us. And they created all the mystery's of the world for Humans to figure out, and to gain more energy for them.

Yes I know it's a sci-fi, but this maybe the future for us to gain energy from people.

I love discussing things like this, it get's you thinking. I don't belive it myself but..

Matrix is NOT a theory, it is just fictional film made up by some clever film writers/directors/whatever.

The film(s) themselves were very good, very different action/sci-fi/thriller idea that hadnt (and probably still hasnt) been picked up. By this i mean, if you watch any sci-fi for instance it follows a set path and you could probably predict the next scene in the film.

As for energy issue, well we could round up the homeless and put them in giant mousewheels hooked up to dynamo's? I don't know really, no one is going to stop using cars or use less electricity so we need to keep burning fossil fuels to sustain ourselves. A nice little bit of trivia you can tell your mates down the pub though,

"If we could somehow harness the energy from one lightning storm, we could power the ENTIRE earth for a year."

havent read much into it, theres little point at the moment but anything goes for me- if the matrix is created to hide us from the truth then well, its doing it !

Matrix's explanation to life always reminded me of Truman Show with Jim carrey in.

i think most people (with an open mind) watched the Matrix and thought, shit, that could actually be real.. i kno i did :P

But realisticly, i dont think its possible to live in our own dream world.

The Matrix is not a well substantiated explanation, its just an idea that some brothers from Chicago come up with.

The great mind that is Karl Pilkington "theorises" that if we hadn't invented the means of flight that we would have evolved to have wings by now so that we could get to other places. Now by your definition he has a theory, in my mind hes a simpleton who heard about "that evolution lark" and came up with a fun little idea... just like the matrix.

Well it can be a well substantiated explanation.

It does logically make sense.

Study a bit into hypnosis and u will see why the matrix could be true.
If ur brain thinks/believes its sensing something , then you feel it , even if its not true.
