Hey guys,
i asked on the shoutbox last night but no one seemed to know what i was on about so i thought id make a post here.
basically my uni (Cardiff) has blocked cs/wow/downloading so ive been trying to find a way around it. ive been told to use a programme called 'yourfreedom', accompanied with 'sockscap'.
however, when i go to open cs with these programmes it just crashes.
if anyone can help me with these programmes or if anyone has had the same problem and found another way around it then any help would be appreciated.

you know people dont just party and revise 24/7 at uni..they like to have some free time for themselves and do the things that they like to do..ITS COMPLETELY NORMAL...

i was first year at cardiff last year, just didnt play cs for a year. only way round is if u go to the tech guys and ask them to unblock the ports to your address. pretty keen

i couldnt get yf to work with cs either at derby, had to use the net, was just good enough to play, couldnt talk on vent unless i wanted a 125 ping

People who say "you're at Uni, why game?" are pretty stupid IMO.
I've been here for the past two weeks, and during the day maybe 2 out of 7 days I've had not much to do during the day and have been bored. When I get into it a bit more I'm sure I won't be able to afford nights out and will wanna be able to play some games.
I can't though as I'm on Direless and don't even have a TV :/

bad time management if u cant play a game u enjoy.. too many people feel pressured by social status etc to admit they enjoy a bit of gamin now n then. I had some of the best nights ever in my first year of uni, but still managed to fit in my other interests =]

Exactly. What the hell is with the 'you're at Uni' lark. It's obviously people that have never been. You can't go out to town every single fucking day, have sex 24 hours a day, and generally sit around thinking you're the bollocks becasue you've 'found a greater meaning to life' than gaming or doing other 'uncool' hobbies you used to do. You go out say two times a week, do some work and other activities - you still have a hell of alot of free time to to solitary stuff and persue things you enjoy that maybe arn't social or 'cool'.

what i said was a question not a statement. all my friends from my area who played cs and wow before going to uni all quit once they got there as they didnt have the time for it around studying and socialising. so im just going off the information i have been given by my mates currently studying at uni. xx
