I have a plantronics DSP 500 (USB headset), the sound is really really low, i cant hear footsteps until they are on top of me, the only way i can hear is if i turn up my windows volume, but then guns wreck my ears. turning the volume up in CSS doesnt effect it either, any clues???

lol... make sure ur hl2 launcher is set to ur sound card or on board sound.

Zalman all the way! Best game i ever played for sound was .... come to think of it ... none are bang on but source I find is quite good.
*Yeh btw, make sure your soundcard is set as your main device ... sound options in control panel etc.
