Alright, to avoid anymore shoutbox spam of the matter, I'm making this thread.

Michael Owen, we know him, we love him, was an amazing player in his hay-day, and he is soon to be a free agent after being released from his contract at Newcastle.

The bookies have him on a 7/4 odds to go to Manchester United

id rather see him somewhere like everton where hes guarenteed games. but wherever he goes he ll score goals. dont want to see him end up at hull or anything like that though. owen > heskey, crouch, agbonlahor, defore etc etc etc.

Yeah but what about Man United? Some people are obviously loving the idea but I disagree, personally I think he would be a full time benchwarmer except for games of little importance, waste of a player and waste of money IMO.

As a Liverpool fan I'd hate to see him go to Utd. I personally don't see it, but then again the premiership has always been full of suprises.

Think about...

Michael Owen - Englands best ever Striker.
- Scored in the big games, portugal 04, Brazil 02, Germany 01.
- Played well with Rooney upfront.
- Hes 29, He will want one last hurrah at the big time, He wants to be in the World Cup the chemistry he had with Rooney when playing for England was fantastic to say the least, He will be in a team with Giggs, Rooney, Scholes.. not Duff, Butt, Nolan, He will get the ball and do what he does best score, 1 year contract 90/100k a week if it works, fantastic SAF one of his amazing signings.. if not scousers are gunna piss themselves, but imho when he was at newcastle he didnt get the ball like he did for england/liverpool/real, he had to work for his goals. thats not his style, hes a feed and he shall score player. i think this will be a fantastic deal.
