NeoTokyo
about neotokyo
NEOTOKYO is a first person shooter that provides a visceral & realistic combat experience in a rich futuristic setting. It is greatly influenced by our admiration for Masamune Shirow (GHOST IN THE SHELL) and Katsuhiro Otomo (AKIRA), and has been in production since October 2004. To play NEOTOKYO you will need to have a STEAM account, and own the game HALFLIFE 2 or any game that gives you the Source SDK ...
story
NEOTOKYO takes place about 30-40 years from now in a Japan that has drifted into social/political strife due to the inevitable stresses that come from changing times. The Japanese government is grappling with intensified external (Asia geopolitics) and internal (economic/social) problems, and there is mounting pressure from within Japan to return to the days when it exerted influence through military power and strength. A failed legislative push to alter the Japanese Constitution (allowing the Japanese military to engage in offensive actions outside of the country) leads to an attempted military coup by members of Japan's armed forces (GSDF). The coup fails, but was very close to succeeding. In an effort to suppress further coup attempts, Japan's Prime Minister forms a branch inside the Interior Ministry's National Security Forces (NSF) called GROUP SIX. They answer directly to the Prime Minister and are sworn to protect the Japanese Constitution at all costs. They immediately begin to hear rumours of a rogue element of the GSDF Special Forces (JINRAI) maneuvering for a second coup attempt. These JINRAI are Special Operations Group 43 (SOG43), fierce nationalist loyal to their love of country, and a desire to put Japan back into a position of strength and power.
This begins the war in the shadows between the NSF and JINRAI.

restart steam and it should be in your steam games.
&m0ar:
Basically from what I have understood playing it.
You capture the "Ghost" (Female I-robot) The player carrying the Ghost loses his ability to use his primary weapon. When he is carrying the Ghost he has like radar hack and can tell where all the enemies are. He is unable to shoot whilst doing this.
The objective of the game (it may just be one mode idk yet) is to carry the Ghost to your opponents spawn practically (or very close to it).
You win the round by either carrying the Ghost to the rescue point or by defeating all of your opponents.
At the beginning of the map you get one of three choices of weapons, the more kills you get / rounds you stay alive for / objectives completed the more your rank increases, with each rank increase you can use the locked weapons. Please note that this isn't a permanent level thing like TF2 upgrades, merely for that game, so allow the fact that if you join 3/4 of a way through a public game the top fraggers on both teams are gonna be using awps whilst your using tmps.
Class guides:
When you join a team (faction) you'll get a choice of 3 models, these first free are in fact ALL recon models, to change class you'll have to click the class group name icon, then you players models will change. Recon: Weaker weapons, faster, satchel charge, fast sprint and nightvision. Assault: Stronger weapons, average ms, frag grenade average sprint and thermal imagery. Support: Strongest weapons, slow as hell, no sprint, smoke grenade and the ability to see through smokes.
The specials I have discovered allow you to change the type of ammo/firing rate of some weapons, like the shotgun gets a slug instead of a shell. Thus allowing wan bulls.
Well seeing as it's based in Japan, If it was updated regularly you could see this at WCG or one of the other competitions totally influenced by Asian gaming.
Just come off of it now, worth a bash out i'd say. Definately needs some tweaking, so many minor issues in the game that just seem to have been ignored.
