Shopping list

Rite guys if you look at my profile you can probably see im due a new keyboard, a mouse and some headphones.

Heres what ive got my eyes set on.

As you can see I havent gone for the best in the range, because im trying to keep costs low.
Anything is better than what im running at the moment, and people who have played with me can see that with my aim.

If you could suggest anything better then please say but keep the above note inmind.

And if ive put something in there thats terrible then tell me too.
Im spending alot of money so dont want sh!t lol

I'd go with an intellimouse 3.0, you can pick one up for about 15 quid off some sites.

That saves you 25 quid on the g5, which then in turn you can put towards a headset, if you added another 10/15 you could pick yourself up some sennheiser 555's (+ the 31 from the headset you were gonna buy anyway)

slayer is right. i had a quick look on play.com for you:

Mouse - this mouse is great in my opinion, many people use it. i used to have the G5 and i would say this is the best. also its cheap!
Keyboard - you don't need to spend lots on a keyboard. at the end of the day they all do the same job.
Headset - cheap, good. i only looked on play.com so if u have more cash to play about with id recommend the HD555's, you can pick them up for roughly 50pounds.

Those 3 products total up to: £77.97
id say thats pretty damn cheap :)

ive had my intelli for around a year and a half now its possibly the best mouse ive played with so much movement with it than the MX518 this mouse aint big thick wise but unfortunetly its mouse1 is broke i think double clicking things automatically which is good for cs i guess

The thing which got me hooked with the G11 was the amount of G keys and banks. 54 G keys intotal, and the ability to disable the painful windows key.

Can you recommend a similar keyboard.

PS im probably going to ebay most of this kit if i can find it with a legitimet seller at a good price new.

*edit* just looked at the 555's on play and they are bare cheap, so maybe get them if you can afford. The ones i posted originally are closed so maybe better on lan and high noise environments, whereas the 555's are bigger cans and having the 595's i can say they are comfy as fuck and can have them on for hours, build quality is epic, and sound is very immersive *edit*

and a desk mic for like 5 notes and your winning imho

To be honest Ollie - im using a £5 Trust keyboard from ASDA.. it means fuck all :)

you can disable the windows key on any cheap keyboard. just stick a knife under it and give it a wiggly wigg!

the fatal1ty headset sucks.. worst headset I've ever had, get some Senn pc150's! they last for like 3 yr's and are so comfortable on my 2nd pair. Only headset I've ever purchased twice ;).

my mouse and keyboard are from the stoneage so cant help there sorry. haha

Give it a wiggly wigg!. I suppose it works but a bit outrageous.

The fatal1ty sucked with the mic and speak connections, the new usb verision is better with more bass and clarity.

The apple keyboard is amazing but im not sure personally if i would like it to play games and the depth of the key isnt much and would have to check to see if im still pressing it :P

get a 3.0

buy a generic microsoft or logitech keyboard with a few fancy functions but nothing to special.
you need to make sure you can press 3 buttons at the same time without it bleeping at you.

headsetwise get hd555 or 415 and a shitty desktop mic.

get the sennheiser hd555s

make sure you get a keyboard where you can press more than 3 keys at a time and that's about it really.

For me the HD555s are too expensive, even if they are the best you can get. Ebays cheapest buy it now is £74 even though play.com do them for £60.

If i had seen the mx 518 in the first place it would have been on that shopping list. So thanks for telling me.

Ive got the intelimouse at the moment as well as this cheap logitech one. I just keep it for when im on the laptop. Might do a switch if its that highly rated.

Ive a perfectly good keyboard at the moment best i ever had. But because I admin my server ive taken all my F keys up with bindings and need more. So that razor keyboard wont be much differnet to the one I have. G11 is still there then.

Another thing i havent really thought about was a mouse matt.

Ive currently got a tiny thing which obviously isnt much good as im constally picking up the mouse to get movement.

Would you just suggest getting a big mouse matt, or is there a specific type that works better than the rest.
