its hardly a joke, its the 2nd transfer mess chelsea have been involved in, in recent memory. they broke the rules, and got found out. i dont see it a major problem this season, but if... they dont win anything this season, and due to the ageing nature of the squad, i can see many players leaving, and chelsea being in a hell of a mess by 2011

What a ban, a lot of people have said they think Chelsea has the best squad and a chance of winning it this season, now they've been given a chance to prove that assumption. Chelsea can forget signing any new players till what 2011? There squad is gonna have to stick together and dig deep!

They might feel the burn when Kalou, Drog, Essien, Mikel etc go to the ACoN in a few months. I expect it to get appealed and cut to 1 transfer window so it's no big deal really.

no they didnt
anderson and nani came at the end of the 2006/07 season

and i would much prefer to have anderson than mikel tbfh

They've done this a few times though:

Ashley Cole
Obi Mikel
Essien (Pretty sure somethin dodgy went on there too)
This kid that this is over.

It will be reduced to one, Roma got the same 2 transfer window ban a couple of seasons ago over Philippe Mexès. It was reduced to 1 on appeal so they'll only miss the January window and I doubt they were planning a big buying spree anyway. The summer window would be a harsher ban and probably a fair one too though. Would have much more meaning anyway.
