Whats your view on this guy should he be the england captain or no not?

i think he should have the armbanned taken off him and it should be given to gerrard, thats my opinion anyway.

i think aslong as his personal life doesn't interfere with his game on the pitch, it should make no difference

Yeah gerrard is whiter than white of course, he should of been locked up for assault. None of them have the best track record. Rio ferdinand got a 8month ban, rooney when off with a prostitute etc etc

Depends if he has lost the respect of his teams mates in the england team, if he has he shouldnt be captain and should step down

If he's lost the respect of the locker room then take it off him. No point in appointing him the leader if no one is willing to follow.

But taking him off the plane to Africa like the tabloids are banging on about is just madness. It comes down to Bridge vs Terry (ability wise, not street fight). Who would you have? An average player who's only in contention 'cos England has so few decent left backs, or a monster centre back who seems to give 100% every game and pretty much makes Englands defence what it is?

Shorey is ok going forward, but defensively very weak. Would get destroyed by any half decent winger.

Put Barry there. Started his career there. Only way he'll get into the team with Lampard, Gerrard and Milner fighting for CM positions

Maybe "convince" Luke Young to come out of international retirement. Warnock is a good shout though.

What hoaxn said, if he's lost the respect of the locker room he should go. imo that's inevitable. He's shown such a blatent lack or respect to one of his England players, how can they be expected to respect him back. I don't think a man who has such small amounts of respect for his friend and colleague should be England captain, kids shouldn't even have the opportunity to look up to him.

the role of the captain is to have trust with the squad and lead by example, terry is a great defender maybe one of the best centre backs in europe. But if he cant even be loyal to one of his best mates how do you think the the rest of the squad will feel about him being loyal to them?

i wouldnt drop him from the squad from the world cup tho thats just stupid.

i don't think it's fair to judge JT without knowing all the facts... bridge could be a complete cunt and knock his wife about. i don't think it's a case of 'trusting a player on the field' - end of the day it's football and on the pitch you're not going to disobey an order from your captain cos he's nobbed someone's wife. i'd rather have JT in the squad than bridge any time of the day, simply because bridge hasn't had the best season and we need JT more than him.
