Basically if I install a program or download a file/photo or whatever and the laptop runs out battery or you restart/turn off then It makes a new boot log or whatever its called basically there are still old pictures on thie computer that have been there for a while and u can still find the files u install or whatever on the hdd but it re-creates itself like its saying there are multiple users.

It's nothing special just used for browsing

Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU Z520 @ 1.33GHz (2 CPUs)

1014MB RAM

Intel(R) GMA 500 Graphics Controller 8mb??

Have Avira AV installed, I have also used Combofix and that worked wonders but I had to restart and it done what it usually does.

Any ideas?

sounds like something or someone has made her profile read only (AKA .MAN)

CHECK her NTUSER.DAT file is not named NTUSER.MAN - if it is rename it.

edit: you'll find it C:\Documents and Settings\ACCOUNT NAME\NTUSER.DAT and it will be a hidden file so enable hidden files in tools > view or whatever it is..

oh and to rename it you'll have to login as administrator because it will be in use by her account.
