so, top of the league ... unbeaten ... without our most influential player for a good while, not really hit top form yet, players have been injured. if we are top by xmas theres no reason united can't take the title back, i think an early exit from the champions league would come in handy. can't beleive people were writing off the squad at the beginning of the season ...

You're right in saying that people who wrote Man Utd off were stupid, with Ferguson in charge they'll always be around the top of the league, but you have to admit the unbeaten stat does mask some average performances and this Man Utd side isn't as good as the last 3 or 4 seasons (so far, Rooney may improve the team, we'll see)

A player is just a player who can be replaced, obviously some players and managers are unreplacable but thats football. A team can't win a game with just 1 player on the pitch as i'm sure you know although quality players strengthen certain areas of the formation. We've won games without gerrard and won trophies and games without torres. :)
