Making a new pc for someone to play 1.6 on

Mobo/CPU/RAM:

He's already got a sick case and a nice 1000watt power supply, just need a graphics card now.. don't really know much about the latest ones though as I haven't bought one for ages. Any recommendations?

He want's to spend as little as possible but wants something that isn't gonna get fps drops at all in CS, I know CS is an old game but I got FPS drops on my old pc which had pretty good specs too even after formatting and different drivers etc :) Any other recommendations?

Someone posted a cube pc on here yesterday for 250, would EASY run cs, all he would need was a gfx card that 300quid job done zaK send him the 500 bill and go out and get wasteddddd

460 is best option zaK im upgrading my 260 to a 460 soon from recommendation of a friend.

Yeh I saw that but it's from some random place i've never heard of and all the components say "Premium brand" which kinda gives me the impression they're shit otherwise it would just say what make they were :/

Yeh, it's just for 1.6 though, do you get 100fps constant with your 260 mike?

yeah 100fps constant and can see thru 2 smokes. 16bit can walk around in like 10 smokes and see thru it all. 260 is fine just for cs and i even play mw2, bfbc2, blackops all on my 260 and that ranges from 40-70fps!

my 8800gts is only 320mb and with everything on high my fps never drops in 1.6

Yeh problem is u cant buy those old cards anymore on overclockers/ebuyer etc :(

my old x1300 handled CS easily so no need to go overboard

Good little setup, can be upgraded easily upgraded with an i5/i7 and faster/more memory. Also that board supports Xfire so add another 460 and u got a little bad boy on your hands ;D
