Hi guys, I'm going to be buying a new pc within the next few weeks and heres the setup im looking at getting:

CPU: AMD Bulldozer FX-4 Quad Core 4100 Black Edition 3.60Ghz (Socket AM3+)
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth 990FX AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
Case/PSU/CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Silencio RC-550 Case and GX 650W Power Supply with Hyper-TX3 Cooler Bundle
GPU: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6770 1024MB GDDR5

Here's a question also, I am getting a 5770 given to me for free and was planning on buying a 6770 anyways, so now im thinking maybe if i can crossfire the 6770 with the 5770, would this work with the specs ive shown?

Thanks for help :) also if anyone thinks alterations to the spec that would also be helpfull :X

It should work but you might not see that much benefit from the x-fire. Check out so mix cross-fire site reviews.

Any reason why you aren't going with with a i5 processor?

Also the sabretooth is slightly out now imo, thought about a MSI or ASUS P7 board?

As said in shoutbox it works if the 6770 is in slot 1 only but is there any reason for buying a new 6770 when the 5770 your getting for free is basically identical in terms of performance and features? It would make much more sense to spend the money you were gonna be spending on that 6770 on swapping your build to the i5 2500K with a decent socket 1155 motherboard and if theres stil dosh left over getting a small SSD (fairly cheap now) as a boot drive and stick a Steam on there and you can bung some games on the SSD (the ones you want) and the rest on a second 1-2tb storage drive which are cheap as anything nowadays.

The Bulldozer FX-4 4100 is barely matching the i3 currently and the i5 2500k obviously blows them both away in terms of value:performance. If your not a fan of overclocking (it is tedious) then a preclocked i5 2500k bundle off overclockers would save you the bother even if they bung like 20 quid on the preclocked bundles it saves grief and a clocked i5 is stomping a stock i7 / matching a clocked i7 for gaming.. !

You know on the RAM, the lower the timings (ie. 9-9-9-27) the better?

i mean the case & psu aint that important as I can just use what i got atm so depending on how much ive got left over to spend i can ditch it, not to fussed about the SSD if need be too

in theory yes, the timings are designed to be altered, having a lower timing is more important if you are looking to overclock as it's less likely that you throttle your CPU and blue screen/don't boot. but you really wouldn't notice the difference in latency in the real world without overclocking.

I wasn't intending to be sarcastic, the point still stands though.

the 4100 is good value tbh for the price of around £80-90,
http://www.guru3d.com/article/amd-fx-8150--8120-6100-and-4100-performance-review/1
beats a i5 661 in the tests, and yes i know a i5k is better but also far more expensive.
