Hello i have 2 questions .
Equipment :
Arturia MiniBrute Analog Synthesizer
http://www.arturia.com/evolution/assets/images/products/minibrute/gallery/minibrute_ar_gal.jpg
and
Focusrite Saffire 6 USB
http://www.musicmatter.co.uk/focusrite-saffire-6-usb
[Question 1] IF i wanted to connect the Arturia MiniBrute Analog Synthesizer to my computer so i could record sounds only from the synth onto Ableton Live , would i need to use a MIDI thru cable and connect it to the midi thru on the Focusrite Saffire 6 soundcard?
[Question 2 ] - Can the Arturia only be used for using the sounds which are on it , or can you use it as a midi keyboard aswell for i can use vsts on software?
- Jason

Question 1:
No
Question 2:
Yes
You don't need to use the MIDI connections. Just use the usb port and connect it to your computer. It will then act as a MIDI controller. If you want to record the sounds from the synth then you need to connect it to the audio interface via the master audio out port and then in to one of the audio inputs on the Focusrite.
What you can also do is record the MIDI data from the synth and play it back with the computer. However, it will only play the patch your are on so at some point you will need to record it as audio.
