Aight peeps!

So, I'm hitting the gym every day now on a rotation of free weights, machine weights and cardio... I've never tried protein shakes but many people are saying its the way forward.

I've seen loads of posts over the years from you guys who hit the gym regularly, what do people recommend for weight loss/burning fat?

I'm in exactly the same boat, I'll be watching this closely.

I've been told you don't want to go every day, at least have a rest day planned during your weekly routine.

I do, 5 min walk on the running machine, then hit the bike for 15mins. Go and do some sit ups with a weight ball and a bench on major incline. Then go on the rowing machine for 15mins, do some pyramid training, running machine for 15mins and then finish up with some more sit ups.

Been every other day for the last 2 weeks, already noticing a massive change! :D

It's working for me, not sure if it's correct though..

I don't have protein shakes, I just eat 2 eggs when I get home. hahaha.

2 lads i know who are like 17/18 stone FAT have started the gym/circuit training
they are taking something called ethergen
ps both have lost about 1and half stone in literally 1/2 weeks the weight is pooring off them

ethergen is the legal form of speed :) works well but its classed as cheating in the eyes of gymmonsters but saying that i'd use it if itd make me lose weight lawl!

things to bare in mind:

*Protein shakes are not a sub for FOOD... EATING..

*To achieve the best results in anything fat loss, lean muscle gains etc you NEED to workout you're MACROS (what you're body needs in terms of kcals,protein,carbs,fats) this will vary from individuals dependent on variables such as somaotypes (these can't be changed - genetics) and on you're goals such as fat loss etc.

*You should master the main compound movements such as deadlifts, squats, cleans n press, bench press that will help generate hormones around you're body.

*Doing TOO much weights 'can' be COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE... recovery is equally as key training principles and applying nutrition.

Plenty of other things play a part but MACROS are the most important in learning. If you're unable to master you're nutrition towards you're needs and requirements, you're progress is greatly going to be hindered.

Google 'how to workout you're bodies macros' there will be some websites briefly explaining the caluculations to find information about what you're body needs to add, loss and maintain weight.

Like geo said work out macros, then just focus on weight trainiing, intermittent fasting is the best way to lose fat without a doubt, all these nerds can try argue with me but they're all either obese or stick thin

as for cardio, fuck cardio unless you enjoy it, yeah its important (for your heart) but if you are focusing on weight loss and don't particuarly care about your heart :D then just say if you were burning roughly 300cals in cardio, just eat 300cals less instead, it IS the same thing, and fuck anyone who says anything different.

Oh and as for protein shakes, they aren't something that you _NEED_ but they are helpful in a diet, but you don't need them at all, it's just for extra source of protein if you're a busy person etc (i have plenty of protein shakes but i aint busy ;)))
