CS:GO release

So... Me and four mates have been playing this game for just over a month now. We've noticed that not too many UK players are playing competitively, and so have resulted to entering into European cups and playing international teams.

Although like the other Counter-Strike remakes it doesn't match 1.6, it's definitely the closest yet. Just wondering how many of you will be planning on getting involved, once the game is released?

And if The SGL will be supporting this game?

On a serious note, the game is getting backed by some big sponsors. So if you want to play CS in big tournaments for cash prizes... CSGO is the way forward.

ESL are giving away BETA keys to teams that sign up for this cup, some fairly decent prizes too.

pLo... every other country is playing this game competitively already and it plays fine.

As I said, we have already been in a number of international cups and have the ESL cup this month.

Do your research? OK. look at the proportion of beta keys given/available in america, asia and europe compared to the amount in the UK and you will see why...

Also, UK CS has been dead for years and the few that have beta keys arent likely to keen it up and form a competitive clan together.

pLo, not sure why you're getting angry. If you want a beta key just enter the cup... Not rocket science.

No need to be a dick either, you're suggesting to us that there isn't any competitive play, yet we've been mixing, playing in cups most evenings and we certainly haven't been playing by ourselves.

I only use the shoutbox on fridays and have been a member of sgl since 05, i'm sorry you don't take the time to contribute.

I would love to try the game out at some point to see just how good it is. The only thing I am concerned about is the registry as 1.6 reg can be pretty shocking some times and amazing other times. I want a consistant game that looks nice and plays well.

If CS:GO is as described I will almost definitely return to being competetive :)

I got sent a beta version and to be fair it's pretty good. The guns look ridiculous but it's a fairly good mix between CSS and 1.6. If there are a few people playing a couple of mixes and alike I'll happily give it a go.

How do you get hold of a beta version dav? Is it just random or can I apply for one somewhere?

I'll probably play when I get back from Greece in October
