I remember recently slating whoever couldn't set his up so i apologise for that now!
My old PC was pretty much just a case of plug n play, select res, select 120hz, launch game and play.
my new laptop is only displaying 60hz as an option even with 'hide modes this monitor can't support' unticked (not that that should be an issue anyway).
Anyone got any ideas? my nvidia drivers are up to date and i've downloaded drivers for the monitor and applied them to both display ports on my lappy.
taken till now to notice because i don't really miss 100/120hz on WoW, but on CS it's fucking awful at 60.

Sorry to break it to you. You won't be able to get 120hz out of your laptop. 2233rz requires duel link dvi to get 120hz, your laptop doesn't have it.
How I know...I tried it myself.

when I moved my CRT from XP to Windows 7 I had to remove a pin as my monitor didn't have the hardware certificate needed for windows 7. Once I removed the require pins from the adapter it unleashed every hz possible even ones my CRT can't do.

odd that it worked on win7 before though.. Can you confirm you are now running at 120hz? and anyone else also please!

yeh I play some games at 150hz, as long as I dont choose a out of freq hz it's fine. I use a refresh rate patcher to avoid games loading an incorrect hz. If your DVI cable is removable, and isn't too expensive to replace and no other solution works, then it might be worth a shot. The fix was mainly for CRT's but don't see why it wouldn't work on a TFT.
Maybe try older drivers? or if it's a plug and play monitor try uninstalling it through device manager, then unplug it, reboot, and then plug it in when the pc is logged on, and maybe let windows install required files? no idea if it'll make a difference. could be like a simple bug causing the issue.

yeh google something like "CRT pin removal for Windows 7" they'll be a view diagrams and guides, some will probably tell you the details of what the removal of the specific pins will do.

pLo try this:
http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.php?/topic/22385-refresh-rate-patcher-1-0-1/
It worked for me and I have my SyncMaster 997mb running on 120hz 800x600.
when you open up the file, select "add refresh rate between 60 and 200hz for all resolutions"
It only works for Nvidia cards and I have had no problems using it for couple of years now.

Thanks mate but no luck! could be because i'm on 64bit or it could be because my graphics card runs through the intel chipset (standard behaviour for laptops afaik, there's an nvidia gtx 670 chip powering the intel 'ports' on the motherboard).
I'll try the modded EDID shit one day soon when i'm not nackered :P
