Side by side help

Hello i recently wiped my computer clean , and everythings been going well and then when i wanted to use my music software (Ableton Live) it comes up with a message saying

The application has failed to start because its side - by - side configuration is incorrect .. please see the application event log for more detail

Ive never seen this message before while using other software. I looked on google for some help but im really thick and didnt find anything , but i checked event viewer and looked at the applications and found that there was an error and the error was -

Activation context generation failed for
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Ableton\Live 8.1.1\Program\Live 8.1.1.exe".
Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC90.MFC,processorArchitecture=

Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis

i have no idea how to fix this problem and its really annoying me that i cant use me software.

when you reinstalled your windows was the previous version 64bit aswel?

yes it was

maybe an update that wasn't there before ? how often did you update ?
