Click Start go to "Run" type "cmd" now in the dos window type :- regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll
If you have recently uninstalled say photoshop or another imaging proggy maybe you need to set the correct program to open with that file name so if the above fix dont wrk you could try :-
To change a file type association to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer:
1. Open any Windows folder
2. On the Tools menu select Folder options...
3. Select the File Types tab
4. Wait for the registered file type associations to appear 5. Find the file type you want to change (probably JPG or GIF)
6. Click on the file type and click Advanced button
7. Click on the Open action and click the Edit button
8. Find the box labeled "Application used to perform action." This is the application that opens this type of file. Delete the application listed in that box and replace it with the following:
rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1
9. Click Ok, Ok, and Close. And try now.
