I just looked it up and league playoffs haven't used the away goal rule since 2000, still gutted about the offside decision though, wtf was that about, it could be for dissent, however it didn't say that

"Soley was Caught offside"
"Soley was given second yellow and was sent off."

ive not noticed any bugs until jonS just said lol, got really far without saving and the dam thing crashed on me!!

yeh matt ive noticed all of those... in particular corners, I have had at least 3 goals a game ruled out due to it :| its never even the guy who scores

also ive crashed about 30 times, but its my mates network game so it doesnt really make a difference for me, he doesnt crash

tactics is still dodgy and has never been perfect, best idea is to keep it simple unless you have a special player

also, for anyone who hasn't yet looked, championship manager 2008 looks amazing, the player/tactic detail in comparison to fm2008 is unbelievable... i dunno what the rest is like, probably poor, somebody wanna give me more info?

EDIT: thought i'd post my favourite bug... every 1/10 of my centre kicks, as in after half time, at the beginning or after a goal, kasper schmeichel (yes, my goalkeeper) takes it with my striker then pegs it back to goal instantly

btw for the people that don't know there is a beta patch out which fixes the majority of the problems which is here: http://download.sega.com/u/fm2008_patch/fm2008_801_betapatch.exe . i would list them but the readme actually nearly took me 10 mins to read so i'll pass on that. only real problem i've noticed with it is most teams morale are suicidal after losing one game, regardless of whether they won the last 20 which can be REALLY annoying when u play a gd team nxt. other than that, hf!

ive heard some problems about that patch too... the word beta in it makes me feel uncomfortable

do ur saved games work with the patch or do you need to start again

they will probably work with bug fixes but not changed player stats/clubs etc

the game is rubbish (im a fm addict):

you can make infinate money from buying and selling players until you run out of players in the game to buy (never occured before, selling was much harder and buying much easier)

there are a simply ridiculous amount of bugs in the game

english clubs stature is way too low, most find it impossible to attract players

players will rarely get unhappy to the point where they are willing to sign for someone slightly worse, whereas before it always happened, now its a near impossibility even if their clubs are treating them like shit

the tactics are all fucked, i'm playing one sweeper, two centre backs, 4 accross midfield, 2 AMs and a striker and somehow, because i know how to ruin teams on tactics, i win every game without fail

the ui looks absolutely shocking, judging players ability is nowhere near as easy on the eye as before, aswell as looks in general

the match engine is just shocking now, strikers seem to miss easy chances more than hard ones, i have scored about one 6 yarder and about 40 20 yarders a season at least

apart from the VERY limited additions, such as a few changes to the players layout, the confidence thing(the only good thing about the game) and the incredibly pointless match buildup, the game is just worse and a step backwards for them

championship manager looks a lot, lot better but no doubt they'll fuck that up]

edit: didn't mention the continuously diobolical scouting network, regardless of how good your scouts are it will remain permanently shit and the top clubs will know every good player, especially ac milan and benfica... its got to the point where i just hate playing the game without fm genie, or at least some kind of reliable scouting aid

also why make shit comments like 'this guy scored loads for me with man utd' - DUH might aswell sign freddy eastwood

darse, I can't believe Sergio Aguero was missing from that list.. He's the best striker in the game!!!

I have to agree with dolphin; this game doesn't constitute a years work and the amount of bugs present is just ridiculous. I was looking forward to this and fmlive, but it looks like both will end up being shit.
