CONFLIKT32 : Knockout Phase

Testing the water in our first Call of Duty4 event we accepted forty eight teams into the group stages of the event and these teams have now been whittled down to just sixteen remaining contenders for the CONFLIKT32 title. The top two teams in each group were put through to this knockout section along with the two best third place teams (where drawn on point then "rounds for" was the deciding factor).

These last remaining teams now enter into a single elimination best of three format over the next four weeks to determine who will be the proud owners of a spanking new public server courtesy of Dustworld - professional gaming servers. For those of you who may not be familiar with the concept of a best of three format match then the following should be of interest.

We start with a pool of five maps. Those maps are : backlot, crossfire, crash, strike and vacant. From these five maps each team will remove one each. From the remaining three maps each team will then choose one map each. The chosen maps will be played (the order in which they are played does not matter) to win a best of three format match you must win on two maps. Should one team win both of the chosen maps the the match is over. If each teams wins one map each then the remaining map in the pool is used as the tie breaker.
