Season Eight : Play off final

Posted by sgl Uzi on 23rd Mar 2008 @ 1:26pm
After the play off semi final last week which saw yu strOng~  lay the smack down on uk First. uk  and and uk inyourmind defeated by en immolate it is now time for the main event of Season Eight as the Invite Champions are about to be crowned.

Tonight from 9pm tune in as yu strOng~ face off with en immolate for the SteelSeries Season Eight Invite title. The teams finished in first and second respectively during the league season so it is perhaps right that these two teams will grace this final match.

Played (as ever) as a best of three match this allows us to get past the "favourable map" syndrome and give both teams the best chance to show their skills on a map of their choosing (and no doubt on a map of their opponents choosing!)

For HLTV details on this match just look over to the right of the page and click on the big HLTV.org banner. For those of you unfamiliar with the map choice in a best of three match (as if you didn't already know) :

All play off matches are played on a best of three maps format. The map pool consists of mill,train.nuke.inferno and dust2. Each team will be invited to remove one map each , then to choose one map each. Should the score be 1-1 after these maps have been played the remaining map will be used to decide the tie.

The Premiership promotion play off final also looks set to be a tough match for both teams as the massed ranks of mh Flattering to Deceive attempt to take down uk team acuity by any means possible in their best of three encounter which kicks off an hour earlier at eight. Both Acuity and FTD have led the Premiership at various points through the season but the former team occupied the top slot for the majority of the season but wobbled towards the end and were unable to hold off JogOn at the death.

As above, tune into the match via HLTV.org by following the link over on the right hand side of this page.
