theSGL is delighted to announce our "Summer Slam" LAN event which is scheduled for June 7th and 8th and will be held at what can only be described as the home of gaming : the Birmingham Omega Sektor.

The event will cater for various game types, be it Counter Strike 1.6, Counter Strike Source, Call of Duty 4, Team Fortress 2, Supreme Commander or whatever else you want to play. Events will be held for any and all of these game types alongside the Trackmania Nations, Quake III, Warcraft III : TFT and of course CounterStrike 1.6 ESWC disciplines.

Tickets to the event will be priced at just £25 per person and for this you will get your own PC reserved just for you (no getting up and down swapping machines between matches) and your exclusive use only.

If £25 already seems like a good deal then let's go one step further - for CounterStrike 1.6 players who take part in the on line qualifiers for the ESWC here on theSGL we will knock the cost of entry to that event off your ticket price for theSGL Summer SLAM event. So when you pay £10 to play in the ESWC online qualifiers you will only have to pay £15 to attend this SGL event. If you qualify for the ESWC UK finals there is no extra cost to pay to attend the ESWC finals - however if you do want to join in theSGL Summer SLAM lan and have a high spec Omega Sektor PC at your disposal for the weekend it will only cost you £15 to do so.

Still more good news! In the quest for the perfect LAN event we are pleased to confirm that the venue will remain open throughout the night. This of course means two key things : You can play all night long - no one is going to kick you off your PC - You came to play so lets get on with it ! and - No hotel bill. Don't give your money to some hotel your only going to spend three hours in - just play all night long this is the Summer SLAM You can sign up to theSGL Summer SLAM event on the event link below. Please indicate the main game you will be playing in the "reason for application" field.

i think theres 2 seperate tournaments at the same event shenk, you pay a tenner to play in the online quals for ESWC which means you get a 10er off the lan - everyone pays 25 quid then

i thought it meant if u pay £10 for eswc online qualifiers and qualify you go to the lan for free to play eswc finals, but if you want to use the omega sektor pc's for the slam thingy then you have to pay £15

Idea is if you compete in the ESWC quals (£10) You only have to pay £15 for the SGL SUMMER SLAM lan. If you DONT compete in the ESWC Quals you pay £25 For the lan.
