theSGL - site update

   It seems that since I am posting upwards of six or seven news posts per day for various games that they get wiped off the face of the website before most people even get the chance to read them. This is no longer so as the first of several changes have been made to the website.

The tabs along the top of the site (the same ones shown above this text) used to open up a new menu on the grey nav bar. Whilst this was OK, it wasn't perfect so now when you click a tab you will be taken directly to the front page for that game. Now it used to be the case that the front page for each game used to look like this which I'm sure you will agree wasn't great either. Well now when you click teh tab you'll be taken to a shiny new front page for each game that looks just like the current front page of theSGL

Needless to say this is only the first stage of many improvements being made and very soon these game front pages will be able to be set as your "SGL hompage" in your profiles and will also only contain information about the chosen game (eg forum posts, shoutbox , poll etc will all be specific to your chosen page).

As ever all thoughts and ideas are welcome - we do have an eight page lst of improvements in hand however so we have already thought ot "it" - but don't hold back, if you have some hot ass idea - tell us !

Ive also added some options to the account page. You can now set a default game news page to view when you return to thesgl.com. Also ive added the option to disable the IP check for session logins. This should fix logout problems which people on dynamic IPs are experiencing, however it will leave your account more susceptible to session hijacking. If you have a static IP then I recommend not to turn this off.

a suggestion: might add recruitment section on the top when we click a certain game where there is "News Tournament Skill tracker etc" instead of clicking on forums and then recruitment?

what about an idea that gives each player a rank (or a number) that can sum the player up in terms of skill, personality and history.
I know there is skill tracker but that only sums up skill and as there are limited skill tracker games, it doesnt always give a true representation of each player.

meh..this idea can be developed on alot.

alt itll be hard for the admins to judge and update that and leaving it to the community it wud be the same thing as the reputation everyone will just randomly click the down arrow all the time

Swear it doesn't work properly. I have to log out and then back in for it to go to that page, but if I just go to theSGL.com it loads the normal homepage.
