An audience with Shloober

Posted by sgl Uzi on 27th Feb 2008 @ 10:25am - 1 Comments

Hi Shloober, for those that don’t know the name could you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?

- Hullo! I'm Oliver Payne, 20, and a student at the University of Kent doing... law. I've been a pretty active RTS gamer for the last decade or so, playing online in all kinds of games, Although I never really played TA, Starcraft was my game! :)

An obvious question first, with so many RTS games out there what made you decide on Supreme Commander as your game of choice?

- At the time Supcom was released, I wasn't really playing a lot of games, I wasn't very impressed with a lot of the new ones that were coming out and some of the old ones were getting a bit repetitive at the time. When I saw the demo for Supreme Commander I thought I'd give it a go because it brought something very new, I loved it and pre-ordered the next day I think! I'd heard that the map that was featured (finns revenge) was relatively tiny too which just amazed me!

So if you had to pick one – what would be the single point that you feel makes Supreme Commander stand out from the rest of the crowd?

- Firstly, the diverse range of strategies and plans that you can use, It's probably the most flexible RTS around in that area, there are so many different ways to play the game, especially in 1v1. In a lot of other RTS games you will generally have a sort of 'script' that dictates roughly how a 1v1 match will go depending on the matchup. Supreme Commander totally breaks that mould in my opinion. But of course that is partly to do with the similarities of the races.
Secondly I think it has a really good community, a lot of cool people around and some good competition. Even though I've only been playing it for less then a year, I already prefer this community to most other games I've played online : )

You have played Sup Com from the early stages and had access to the first BETA’s of Forged Alliance, have GPG delivered the game you hoped for and genuinely improved upon what was already a top quality game?

- I think most of the problems in Supreme Commander were addressed and fixed in Forged Alliance. It's just unfortunate that there are still some problems with the game that urgently need fixing. But from a gameplay point of view, Forged alliance improves upon Supreme commander massively!

Have the players had to make any drastic changes in game play to allow for changes to the game or will a good knowledge of the original game be enough for your average player and have there been many top players who have struggled to come to terms with the new gameplay?

- There are definitely some top players from Supcom who haven't managed to make a smooth transition from Supcom to FA, but at its roots it's still pretty much the same game, just a lot better. If you understood the gameplay mechanics of supreme commander you'll probably only need a couple of weeks to adapt to forged alliance. To be honest I never really adapted to the massive massfab spammage that was in supcom before FA came out. So it was probably easier for me then others.

Personally what is your favourite aspect of Supreme Commander Forged Alliance?

- Definitely what I stated above, the vast array of strategies you can use to employ. The strategic zoom is not all that important to me (altho it definitely helps!) and the fact that the races are essentially identical (They're not, but comparing to many other RTS' out there) is a bit disappointing. But the fact that different maps call for entirely different gameplay is really good!

Obviously you are in theSGL Attrition 2v2 league season, who in you division do you think are going to the team to watch out for?

- There are a lot of strong teams in our divison, I think the SCL team have the best 2v2 gameplay strategies so they will be very strong, but Whatever and TAG are definitely gonna be very hard to beat. Nubcom also has a good chance to do well once they play their games.

By contrast is there a team in the league that you think are underrated and could easily go on to give other teams a tough match each week?

- I think Ourselves (Q squids) and Disco are two teams that will give a good challenge to the other teams! It will be hard for either of us to win the invitational but we can definitely cause problems for the other teams!

Finally on the subject of your upcoming opposition, excluding yourself from the equation, who do you think will be the winners of the season?

- I think it will be SCL, their 2v2 strategies are very solid, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Whatever or TAG won it!

Most Supcom is played one vs one and there has been a noted lack of activity in the GPGN 2v2 ladders, is there a reason why this is so and do you think a 2v2 league such as this could help kick start more players into action?

- I've always been a big fan of 2v2 supcom! I definitely prefer 2v2 to 1v1. The 2v2 ladder was fairly active in Vanilla but hasn't seen much use in FA, mainly because of a few problems with the 2v2 ladder (disconnections, spawns). I think these leagues are a great way to get the spark for more 2v2 matches though! Thanks SGL! :D

Is there a major difference in the way you would play a 2v2 match as opposed to a 1v1, would your build strategy differ greatly from normal?

- 2v2 is really different from 1v1. Obviously you have an ally to back you up so you can both try to specialise in different areas, rather then in 1v1 where you generally have to try and cover all your bases with one eco. Because of this one player can try much more risky starts and experimental strategies with less consequence!

Having another player watching your back while you build your armies is a good thing of course, but is there any disadvantage in having half your forces in someone elses control?

- As long as you have very good communication between yourselves I don't think there is any disadvantage, obviously if you can't communicate well then you will have very slow response times from the other player when you could do so much faster, but generally it's much easier to focus on half your team's units on the map, and try to focus on one area.

theSGL has been hosting cups for SupCom for some time now and there is very much a core player base we expect to see in our events. Since we have got used to seeing the same players fighting it out on a regular basis do you think the number of new maps will have any effect on things?

- I'm always eager to see new maps being used in high profile matches! I think new maps are important to stop the game going stale and repetitive, the ranked ladders doesn't swap around enough to keep my interest for too long, new maps definitely make the games feel fresher!

What is the most intresting map in you opinion for this weeks maps, the maps consisting of Haven Reef, Dark Heart and Emerald Crater?

- I think Haven reef is a great 2v2 map, it allows for many different strategies and ideas, I'm looking forward to playing on it! Emerald crater is a solid 2v2 map in my opinion, but from what I've played of Dark Heart, I don't think it's a great map for 1v1 or 2v2 really, but it could be worse!

And how do you this weeks game against Saint Clare Lageplan is going to go and is there any one of the maps you are most looking forward to?

- I think the game on Haven Reef will be really entertaining! I reckon everyone will expect SCL to win the match but I'm confident that we have the ability to cause an upset! But we will need to play really well to beat them!

And is there any games in the league that you Thought your team Could have done better and is there any reason behind this?

- I think we could have done better in all of our losses! I've watched the replays and you always see things afterwards where you think 'ohh if we'd just done that it would have been different', but it's totally different when you're in the game! Most of our lost games have been really close, so we don't feel too bad about it.

What your favourite map for 2on2’s and what’s the reason for this being your favourite map? And what is the map you don’t like in the map list? and the reason you don’t like this map?

- I think Haven reef is one of the best 2v2 maps in the game, for the reasons stated above. For this week of course I don't think like Dark heart, but I definitely don't like Blasted rock either, that map is horrible to me!

Finally – Which race is your favourite to play as and of course which single unit is the one you enjoy using and why?

- I don't really have a favourite race at the moment, I play random race in ranked games and usually pick a race that I think I can use to the best advantage on the map I'm playing in custom. But if I had to choose a race to be it would probably be Seraphim, they have a lot of qualities that I like!. I think Ilshavohs are a great t2 unit, and their t2 bomber is awesome too. But my favourite unit has to be the UEF t3 transport Continental!

Thanks for your time and may we wish you the best of luck in your upcoming matches.

- Why thank you! Hope to see many more leagues like this one! : )

You can count on it!

Interview: TAG ROCK

Posted by sgl Uzi on 20th Feb 2008 @ 11:52am - 5 Comments

Twenty three years of RTS experience distilled into one man, it hardly seems fair on everyone else really. As much a landmark to the Supreme Commander scene as his namesake is to the southern Spanish coastline Total Annihilation Gods "The Rock" was brought in to help with our enquiries before being released without charge...

Hi Tag_Rock, for those that don’t know the name could you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?

Hi. I am from THE ROCK OF GIBRALTAR. I been playing RTS since 13 :P I concentrated mostly on Red Alert and Total Annihilation although I have tried most of the others in between. I am 36 but still kicking ass :P

An obvious question first, with so many RTS games out there what made you decide on Supreme Commander as your game of choice?

Well, ever since I heard Chris Taylor was doing another strategy game I knew it would be similar to TA, and so it was and here I am! Although some TA aspects have more playability, FA is very similar and more of my taste compared to the others out there.

So if you had to pick one – what would be the single point that you feel makes Supreme Commander stand out from the rest of the crowd?

The zoom feature….

You have played Sup Com from the early stages and had access to the first BETA’s of Forged Alliance, have GPG delivered the game you hoped for and genuinely improved upon what was already a top quality game?

I would change some things as a personal taste but overall I am very happy with how Forged Alliance has evolved from Supcom. No new game gets near it.

Have the players had to make any drastic changes in game play to allow for changes to the game or will a good knowledge of the original game be enough for your average player and have there been many top players who have struggled to come to terms with the new gameplay?

Personally for me I found FA been on more of my type of play than Supcom and therefore found it easier to get used to it. Playing the original of course helped and I guess it has helped others too. I find that Supcom is getting stale with only one type of play and same units used over and over. In FA nearly every unit is used which is great.

Personally what is your favourite aspect of Supreme Commander Forged Alliance?

Map control is an advantage now, the microing of units is better and faction diversity has been balanced out quite nicely.
Thing I hate most – The SCORE feature.

Obviously you are in theSGL Attrition 2v2 league season, who in your division do you think are going to the team to watch out for?

Saint-Claire Lageplan, I think the brothers are very sly and original, always trying to snipe commanders and not wasting time with spam tactics :P

By contrast is there a team in the league that you think are underrated and could easily go on to give other teams a tough match each week?

In my division I don’t think there is anyone underrated. And as for the other divisions there are many I don’t know personally so I can’t comment.

Finally on the subject of your upcoming opposition, excluding yourself from the equation, who do you think will be the winners of the season?

I would think Team Whatever are a very strong team and would probably take it this season.

Most Supcom is played one vs one and there has been a noted lack of activity in the GPGN 2v2 ladders, is there a reason why this is so and do you think a 2v2 league such as this could help kick start more players into action?

Each time I have tried playing ranked 2v2 there’s no other searching so I guess I gave up trying in a way unless we arrange it before hand. I think 2v2 leagues such as this one and the SCL’s one would definitely spice the 2v2 ranked games.

Is there a major difference in the way you would play a 2v2 match as opposed to a 1v1, would your build strategy differ greatly from normal?

There are differences yes, personally my strategy is different to 1v1 on most maps. It should be anyway, its 2v2 and it should be played as so. Definitely the players who play as a team should win over others that don’t.

Having another player watching your back while you build your armies is a good thing of course, but is there any disadvantage in having half your forces in someone else’s control?

It has happened to me that I have had to share my units to my partner to pull off some drops, etc. It all depends on the situation, if one scouts good enough and knows exactly what’s happening there shouldn’t be any disadvantage. Obviously communication is very important before sharing anything.

theSGL has been hosting cups for SupCom for some time now and there is very much a core player base we expect to see in our events. Since we have got used to seeing the same players fighting it out on a regular basis do you think the number of new maps will have any effect on things?

I don’t think it would/should affect the numbers, actually changing new maps is a must, and even adding some customs would be nice.

What is the most interesting map in your opinion for this week, the maps consisting of Eye of the storm, open palms and Daroza's Sanctuary?

Eye of the Storm! Great map, u never expect what’s going to happen there unlike the others. Open Palms = spammage galore, Daroza = tech race.

And how do you think this week’s game against NubCom is going to go and is there any one of the maps you are most looking forward to?

I am looking forward to both high noon and Flooded strip mine, those maps aren’t the favourites and therefore not been played too much. Matiz and Funkoff are both good players, Funkoff been currently the #1 and Matiz not far behind - should be an awesome match.

What your favourite map for 2on2’s and what’s the reason for this being your favourite map? And what is the map you don’t like in the map list? and the reason you don’t like this map?

Favourite map is definitely Eye Of the Storm, for the reasons mentioned earlier. Its an evil map full of many possibilititties :P
I don’t have a map that I hate, I like them all - I just prefer to play some over others.

Finally – Which race is your favourite to play as and of course which single unit is the one you enjoy using and why?

CYBRAN !!!!!!!! As Cybran I would have to say the jester, sneaky attacks, hit and runs and even com snipes, everyone loves/fears the Jester!!

Thanks for your time and may we wish you the best of luck in your upcoming matches.

Thanx for my time ?? Where’s the promised cash !?!? Hey ! Come back!!!!

Supreme commander : The BIG One

Posted by sgl Uzi on 12th Feb 2008 @ 9:15am - 5 Comments

In a game where the enemy stands over ten stories tall and your average fighting unit weighs in at a hundred tonnes - size matters. Enter - "The Big One".

Hi TheBigOne, for those that don’t know the name could you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?

<TheBigOne> Hi, I am Aurel Wünsch in the real world, live in Leipzig, Germany and study Sociology at the local university. Additionally I will launch my own Business in a few months (an online service for interactive statistical/thematical map creation)

An obvious question first, with so many RTS games out there what made you decide on Supreme Commander as your game of choice?

<TheBigOne> After playing lots of Starcraft and Warcraft III , mainly 2vs2 with my brother, I got bored waiting for Starcraft II and looked for alternatives. I played Total Annihilation years ago on my uncles computer, so I thought I give Supreme Commander a try. After playing it felt like a RTS which combines micro and macro very good and rewards intelligent play and creativity, so I sticked to it.

So if you had to pick one – what would be the single point that you feel makes Supreme Commander stand out from the rest of the crowd?

<TheBigOne> the organically gameplay, there are no fixed rules what strategy to use. You can play almost every unit combination, either tech up or mass units, rely heavily on air or play mainly ground based, you can play very passively or insanely aggressive. You only need to know how to use the units you chose to build and then you are free to do whatever you want. (Of course there is always an opponent you have to adapt to :P)

You have played Sup Com from the early stages and had access to the first BETA’s of Forged Alliance, have GPG delivered the game you hoped for and genuinely improved upon what was already a top quality game?

<TheBigOne> the original supreme commander had some flaws, which became more and more obvious the longer the game was played, but Forged Alliance solved nearly all those problems gameplay wise (a few bugs remain but they will hopefully disappear after the coming patch). Unfortunately the GPGnet isn't yet perfect, it has lots of very nice features: Livereplay, Replayvault, timestamped chat and sorting chat per player and lots of other gimmicks but it still is more

Have the players had to make any drastic changes in game play to allow for changes to the game or will a good knowledge of the original game be enough for your average player and have there been many top players who have struggled to come to terms with the new gameplay?

<TheBigOne> Forged Alliance is a bit faster than the original game but it plays similar to the early days after Supreme Commander was released - before the imbalance of mass fabricators made aggressive strategies too weak. Another big change is that scouting is a lot harder than it used to be, which makes for more sneaky strategies. FA still has the same core mechanics as vanilla had, just a very improved version of them, so it wasn't hard for me to adapt.

Personally what is your favourite aspect of Supreme Commander Forged Alliance?

<TheBigOne> I already mentioned the variety of strategies earlier. So If I am allowed to mention one more thing: The Community is lovely. Its a rather small one but a very kind and mature one.

Obviously you are in theSGL Attrition 2v2 league season, who in your division do you think are going to the team to watch out for?

<TheBigOne> Sir_Loui put my team in the favourite role last week - we happily accept that role and expect to win without losing a map. Well seriously, I think there are 3 Teams who can win the league: NubCom, Cheesy Owls and Saint-Claire Lageplan my very own team.

By contrast is there a team in the league that you think are underrated and could easily go on to give other teams a tough match each week?

<TheBigOne> I think Team Q Squid will surprise everyone, they won't win the season but a spot in the top 3 is possible.

Finally on the subject of your upcoming opposition, excluding yourself from the equation, who do you think will be the winners of the season?

<TheBigOne> Cheesy Owls then, TAG and Whatever have better 1vs1 players but there teamplay is subpar

Most Supcom is played one vs one and there has been a noted lack of activity in the GPGN 2v2 ladders, is there a reason why this is so and do you think a 2v2 league such as this could help kick start more players into action?

<TheBigOne> The Ranked 2vs2 suffered along time from unfair spawns on maps with more then 4 starting positions, furthermore many players dislike random spawns which can result in crossover positions of allied players. I personally think that 33% of crossover match isnt that bad but many others think so and stay away from ranked. Your 2vs2 League is certainly a good addition for SupCom and i am very grateful you are hosting it. Hopefully we will get even more teams.

Is there a major difference in the way you would play a 2v2 match as opposed to a 1v1, would your build strategy differ greatly from normal?

<TheBigOne> 2vs2 is alot more demanding strategy wise. You need less mechanical skills but there are endless options to choose from you and need to adapt and coordinate your combined armies permanently vs your opponents

Having another player watching your back while you build your armies is a good thing of course, but is there any disadvantage in having half your forces in someone elses control?

<TheBigOne> Not at all - at least if you have so great Teammates like Beetle or TheLittleOne

theSGL has been hosting cups for SupCom for some time now and there is very much a core player base we expect to see in our events. Since we have got used to seeing the same players fighting it out on a regular basis do you think the number of new maps will have any effect on things?

<TheBigOne> I think that Videocasts from Deman, hopefully we get lots of them, will help getting more people in the League. I noticed that after Deman did his first videocast of the SupCom-Live Clanleague. The Map Pool has a rather limited Influence I think - unless you totally screw it up, which you didn't

What is the most intresting map in your opinion for the Second week, the maps consisting of Salt Rock Colony, blasted Rock and Fields of Isis?

<TheBigOne> In all honesty, those three are all maps I don't like very much. But Beetle and TheLittleOne like them and I will have a good watch. I expect Saltrock Colony to be the most interesting match - Isis will be decided after the first 7 minutes and Blasted Rock most likely end in a Draw

And how do you this weeks game against GPGnet Admins is going to go and is there any one of the maps you are most looking forward to?

<TheBigOne> I hope for a 2-0 but thats in the hands of my higher skilled teammates :-)

What your favourite map for 2on2’s and what’s the reason for this being your favourite map? And what is the map you don’t like in the map list? and the reason you don’t like this map?

<TheBigOne> My all time favourite is Syrtis Major, It always makes for very interesting and long matches with many chances to make a comeback. I dislike Darozas Sanctuary as it just has too much mass to reclaim - I personally prefer low mass maps

Finally – Which race is your favourite to play as and of course which single unit is the one you enjoy using and why?

<TheBigOne> I enjoy playing Aeon most and the mercy is my favourite unit now that it is balanced (many say it is underpowered but I disagree), it's just fun to snipe ACUs with it in 2vs2 :-)

Thanks for your time and may we wish you the best of luck in your upcoming matches.

ATTRITION SEASON OVERVIEW

Don't forget to join Deman and QuadV this Wednesday for another live and exclusive broadcast of the Attrition 2v2 Supreme Commander Forged alliance league season....

Interview with Sir Loui

Posted by sgl Uzi on 4th Feb 2008 @ 7:32pm - 8 Comments

As one of the finest exponents in the art of commanding Sir_Loui has fought all opponents to a standstill - and then some. Our very own Supreme Commander chief admin -  Adam caught up with him to find out more about what makes this commander tick...

Hi Sir_Loui, for those that don’t know the name could you tell us a little about yourself and what you do?

Hi ho, my name is Ludvig Cederblad. Im 18 years old and i come from the cold country Sweden. I live in a small town close to Stockholm and study society/sports. Im working weekends as a sports journalist. And another thing yeah, i got a passion for games :P I play football and Supreme Commander Forged Alliance. I love the excitement and the pressure in those games.

An obvious question first, with so many RTS games out there what made you decide on Supreme Commander as your game of choice?

Because it focus more on macro than on micro, but you can still play extremely micro oriented and win. It is a game that allows totally different tactics and strategys. One of the few "true" strategy games in my opinion.

So if you had to pick one – what would be the single point that you feel makes Supreme Commander stand out from the rest of the crowd?

Hmm actually there is so much but one of the maybe simplest and best things is the waypoint, repeat on factory and assist factory system. It is far superior to any other strategy game ive seen.

You have played Sup Com from the early stages and had access to the first BETA’s of Forged Alliance, have GPG delivered the game you hoped for and genuinely improved upon what was already a top quality game?

Yes they have. FA is great and improved vanilla supcom incredible much. There is now room for many more tactics and the eco system is way better. Although FA is superb we want GPG to continue the support of FA and patch it. We are waiting for a patch at the moment but the games is top quality.

Have the players had to make any drastic changes in game play to allow for changes to the game or will a good knowledge of the original game be enough for your average player and have there been many top players who have struggled to come to terms with the new gameplay?

I think most top players have been struggling a bit trying to find the best strats, but that is natural when the expansion so drastically changed the game. I think TheLittleOne is one of the players that camed up with most new tactics lately. Some players always does the same but it is when trying new things the gameplay evolve.

Obviously you are in theSGL Attrition 2v2 league season, who in you division do you think are going to the team to watch out for?

I think TBO/TLO/Beetle and ISU with Bhaal/Bluescreen looks really strong. I would consider them as favourites but that dosnt mean we other teams wont give them a good fight!

By contrast is there a team in the league that you think are underrated and could easily go on to give other teams a tough match each week?

hmm, then i would have to say the admins ^^ TheCoreCommander and TheArmCommander. They are strong in 2v2 and it will be fun to see how they make it in the first league. TAC got the role of eco meanwhile TCC provides the strategys... I think they might suprise some of us :P

Finally on the subject of your upcoming opposition, excluding yourself from the equation, who do you think will be the winners of the season?

TBO/TLO/Beetle

Most Supcom is played one vs one and there has been a noted lack of activity in the GPG 2v2 ladders, is there a reason why this is so and do you think a 2v2 league such as this could help kick start more players into action?

yes there is a very good reason why i dont play 2v2 ranked. The starting positions is totally random so you end up playing 2x 1v1 three times of four and it is very boring for 2v2. This league system with different divisions looks awesome. I hope we can get some unortodox maps in the rotation too.

Is there a major difference in the way you would play a 2v2 match as opposed to a 1v1, would your build strategy differ greatly from normal?

yes, totally. I have had some troubles to adjust to 2v2 because i used to be a 1v1 only player. You need to scout much more since there is 2 enemys and if they decide to go with a premade strat it is a must. In 2v2 you got to make up roles for your team members and have a premade general strategy.

Having another player watching your back while you build your armies is a good thing of course, but is there any disadvantage in having half your forces in someone elses control?

yes i think there are some. If you dont teamwork enough you wont get the units in time to the key positions. But if you teamwork enough there shouldnt really be any serious trouble.

I33 once again has set out it’s stall to lure the Sup Com community to Newbury, after your experience at i32 what are you most looking forward to when you return this time?

The hotel ;) lol nah i would say the atmosphere and all the tournaments going on everywhere. It is also pretty fun to actually meet other supcom players who you might have played ranked against and arguing with at gpg chat..

theSGL has been hosting cups for SupCom for some time now and there is very much a core player base we expect to see in our events. Since we have got used to seeing the same players fighting it out on a regular basis do you think the number of new maps will have any effect on things?

yes, i hope we get some new custom made maps in for the league. It allows more creativity and adjusting to situations, and i would call it harder then just play the same maps over and over.

What is the most intresting map in you opinion for the first week, the maps consisting of Eye of the storm, open palms and Daroza's Sanctuary?

Eye of the storm easily. I hate both palms and Daroza. Eye is a great map allowing many different strats. But palms is overplayed and Daroza got a silly huge amount of reclaimable rocks which makes it boring in my opinion.

And how do you this weeks game against TAG is going to go and is there any one of the maps you are most looking forward to?

Yes the game on Eye of the storm. As i said its easily the best map of those. I know the TAG players very good and i know they will play very very strong. They have played together for a very long time meanwhile me Mentel and Usling is a new partnership. So it will definately be interesting.

What your favourite map for 2on2’s and what’s the reason for this being your favourite map? And what is the map you don’t like in the map list? and the reason you don’t like this map?

i would say Eye of the storm is my favourite 2v2 map. You can do naval, land and air strategies. It has a very cool layout and is very well made.

Finally – Which race is your favourite to play as and of course which single unit is the one you enjoy using and why?

In 1v1 i pick race after map or play random when i do 1v1 ranked. I like to do different strats and play with different sorts of units. I cant say i have a favourite faction..or well they are all my favourites ;) The unit i like most is my commander!!

Thanks for your time and may we wish you the best of luck in your upcoming matches.

If it's Sunday then it must be time once again for the Commanders to join in another round of Concussion which this week moves onto it's sixth incarnation. Right from the word go the Supreme Commander cups have attracted the top flight players from the community and we hope to bring you more of the same this week.

Don't forget you can watch these classy players and their herculean tussles for battlefield dominance over their rivals on QuadV with your ever entertaining host Deman. In short - Concussion Six, Sunday from 7pm* here at theSGL and brought to you live on QuadV. What more could you ask for ?

I understand Adam (Ja_n3d) is planning to use some different maps for you in this event so keep your eye on the rules pages where he will add them at the bottom when he has decided on the rotation.

After an exciting Sunday session with Deman, QuadV and a whole host of 2v2 action which saw the I SHOW YOU twin hammers of de BlueScreen and de Bhaal come out on top in their final with nl Djinn and se Sir_loui trading as SAVE THE POODLE in our first ATTIRITION event. More of these to come in the near future for sure!

So back to the matter at hand : Concussion #5 (Forged Alliance) which will be played on Sunday 21st. As usual the action will begin at 7pm*  but since we dislike turning people away we have extended this to a thirty player cup. The participants will now battle it out over five maps before a winner is found with the maps in order of rotation being :
  • CanisRiver
  • Emerald Crater
  • Theta Passage
  • Finns Revenge
  • Open Palms
With the lengthening of the format to thirty two players the first round will be played on WinterDuel simply to speed things up and get us off to a fast start ahead of the longer than usual expected battles that will mark EmeraldCrater. Good luck to all involved and we will see you on Sunday. Dont forget you can sign up to this event from the tournaments section of the website..

SUP COM : Attrition

I have seen a fair few new teams being added to the site over the last three days each with two big name commanders on the roster. This can only mean one thing - Attrition is coming. Join us this coming Sunday for the first 2v2 Forged Alliance event where the players get to choose who they partner up with and fight their opponents to a standstill as they aim to to take the inaugural Attrition title.

There are still slots left in this event but do not leave it too late as there are quite a few 2v2 SupCom teams registered who have not yet signed up for the event though I can only assume that's why they have formed the team in the first place.

Look out for this event coming to you live and exclusive to QuadV as Deman brings you the exciting matches and featured ties in this event. In keeping with our other Supreme Commander event scheduling the matches will begin at 7pm*

The surviving four commanders will then face off in the semi finals on the sunshine island of Finns Revenge before the final confrontation of the evening which will see the two pre eminent player pit their wits (and their humungous armies!)  against each other on the ever popular Open Palms.
