TMNF : the Grand Prix

  It's been a long time coming but now it is here I am personally going to polish it every day and keep it spick and span. The official and exclusive SGL Trackmania Nations Forver dedicated server is here and it's up and running a full twenty four seven for you to take your sports cars out onto the track and get to grips with some of the most twisting, most turning and fiendish tracks ever created.

If you have not yet got hold of TMNF then what are waiting for ? It's free on steam (yes FREE!) or you can download the standalone installer form the TMNF official website. There is no reason for you not to give it a go!

To join theSGL server open up the game and log in. If you havent already made an account then now is the time to do so. Don't forget to add that account name to your SGL profile in the TMNF field (just as you would a steam account for eg).
  • Select "play online"
  • Click on the "all" menu item. This will display every TMNF server known to man.
  • You will now see two lists. Under the right hand list is a magnifying glass - click it.
  • Into the search box enter "theSGL" and hit search,
  • You now have theSGL server in front of you, click it to join.
  • Oh noes! you need a password try "suicide"
  • Ok, you're on your way into the server now. When you get there hit escape and add this server to your favourites to make life easier next time around.
  • You can also configure your control keys from this menu.
There are just five tracks listed on here at this time and you will download them automatically so you don't need to go get them from anywhere else. These are the five tracks being used at the ESWC Masters event in Paris shortly but more a lot more importantly they are also the ones we are using tomorrow night in our own Grand Prix.

Don't be put off if you don't get around first time or if you take forever - you can often halve your first lap time within a few tries. I will be adding some extras to the server over coming days which will record fast laps, who got them , records and suclike. (for those in the know im talking about aseco of course - though all suggestions welcomed)

In the mean time bare with me while i sort out some kind of standings list from the applicants for tomorrow nights GP which can be viewed on the links below.

personally i prefer fast 3.2 over aseco since you get cool stuff like telling you how far you are behind the server record at each checkpoint..
