TMNF : Race night tonight

After a mixture of illness, machine failure and ironically heavy traffic ruling out the three admins for this event last week and only a short notice given before cancellation we do in fact bring you some high speed racing this evening as we invite players to take part in the first SGL Grand Prix event.

This will take on a different form to the one previously released but will be no less fun and may well even work out to be a lot more relaxed than a formal cup knockout event - the prize of a copy of Trackmania United Forever is still on offer and will be added to the winners steam account by the end of the evening...

First off, Players wishing to take part should join #theSGL.tmnf where the first sixteen players wishing to take part will be entered into tonight's event. There are five maps in rotation on theSGL server and each will be given a ten minute qualifying period. On each race the player who brings home the fastest lap will be rewarded with ten points through to the eighth place driver who will receieve one point. The points from each of the five races will be added together and the top four drivers will go into a "race off" on three of the five used tracks. The top points scorer over these three tracks will be our winner.

The points distribution according to your finishing place will be as follows :

10 points
8 points
6 points
5 points
4 points
3 points
2 points
1 point

If you wish to confirm a place ahead of time in tonights event - simply state your intention to take part in a comment below. Priority will be gien to those players who missed out on the previously schedule event last week. Drivers should be on the grid / in #theSGL.tmnf by 8pm this evening.
