TMNF : SGL GP #3

Posted by sgl Uzi on 9th Jul 2008 @ 9:50am

Despite my own personal all in wrestling match with our TMNF dedi server this last week the racing was still fast and furious. Once again the twin speed merchants of Darky and Nemesis were almost untouchable and as you'll see from the results for SGL GP #2 they had the event sewn up from an early stage.

Do you have what it takes to throw a spanner into the well oiled machine of thee two drivers? If you think you might then now is the time to show what you can do. Just hit the sign up link at the bottom of this post. One thing I will ask though, could you please add your TMNF account name to your SGL player profile as workign out who is who isnt the easiest of things when I'm in a rush posting points between matches!

GP #1 saw the much vaunted Masters of Paris tracks ebing used and GP #2 used the June-July map pack. We will go back a little further and load up the April map pack this time for your driving pleasure... you can download the map pack and mess around installing it or you could just join the server where they download automatically in two seconds flat...

The five maps will be
  • ESWC-04-02.Challenge,
  • ESWC-04-03.Challenge
  • ESWC-04-04.Challenge
  • ESWC-04-05.Challenge
  • ESWC-04-06.Challenge
Still getting to grips with the format we have finally got the right set up and will be using a "rounds" based system for the entire night. There are some major differences between this and the traditional Time Attack mode you may be familiar with. First - you can't respawn if you go wrong. Hitting respawn (backspace) will retire you from the lap. You can still get yourself back on the track using the Enter key however. Laps are played one at a time with the winner of each lap being awarded 10 points, second place picking up 6 points and so on. When one player has reached 32 points we move on to the next track. It's that simple. Over the courcse of five tracks we will find our winner (total number of points over all five tracks)

The server has been loaded with the five tracks we are using this week - so get practicing ready for Monday night at 8pm as we invite sixteen more speed freaks to put their foot down and leave the rest of the field choking on your dust as you disappear over the horizon on your way to Trackmania glory.

If you do not have TMNF installed don't worry - it's on STEAM and it's free. What more could you want? We will keep the same format as last week with all players involved in a race off to get into the last four which will then be played out on a "rounds" basis, Strictly first come first served! Players who sign up and don't then turn up will be put to the back of the queue in future events.

Apologies for having to drop out last week. Tis a shame we only get a few days practise on new maps every week, might we ever start seeing a rotation of these or is the plan to keep it fresh every week?

I ballsed up the server last week , you have a full seven days to get hang of the five tracks on there 04-06 is pretty damn good by the way.

that track is probably 1 of the hardest ESWC tracks ever.. but i still think it should be kept on, if people can't do it the server is up and ready for them to practice?
